Provide Ongoing Learning Opportunities
Sports Medicine Conferences

Once a month, Dr. Steven Chudik, board certified orthopaedic surgeon, sports medicine physician and founder of the Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Teaching and Research Foundation (OTRF), hosts a one-hour sports medicine conference for athletic trainers, physical therapists, orthopaedic clinicians, medical students and physicians. Participants attending the conference are eligible for continuing education credits/units. The conference covers a wide range of topics including discussions about published research, interesting patient cases, radiographic diagnostics, physical therapy, surgery techniques and more. An agenda and pertinent attachments are emailed to participants the week prior to the conference. If you would like to recommend a topic, or present a topic, please email Dr. Chudik with your proposal. The one-hour conferences are held at 7 a.m. at Hinsdale Orthopaedic’s Sports Performance Institute in Westmont. Please call 630-324-0402, or email us to reserve a seat because space is limited.
Research Presentations

Dr. Steven Chudik continually innovates to create new technology, surgical techniques and improve patient care. He also collaborates worldwide with other leaders in the orthopaedic technology industry and mentors pre-med and honors medical students in OTRF’s SOAR program. Surgeries provide Dr. Chudik with an endless source of ideas to create new, safer, less invasive, and more effective surgical procedures, surgical instruments and implants. Several of his patent works are the direct result of these pioneering endeavors. Also, Dr. Steven Chudik has been a research reviewer for the Journal of Arthroscopy and Related Research and the American Journal of Sports Medicine for more than ten years.
An important part of research is presenting or publishing it in peer-reviewed journals and to professional medical organizations. It not only is an excellent way to educate and keep physicians and healthcare providers current, but it also presents opportunities for researchers to collaborate and expand their studies, obtain grants and be among the first to learn procedures to help improve patient outcomes.
